2018-2019 Speak Up Survey–Deadline is January 31

Each year PTSC parents and teachers are invited to participate in the annual Speak Up Survey.  This survey helps gather information for the PTSC, but also gathers data for the state and national levels as well.  It takes about 20 minutes to complete.  I have provided a short bit of information directly from the Speak Up website below to provide more information for you about the survey.  There will be a link below if you’d like to dig in even more!

“Speak Up is the research tool districts use to learn what students, educators, parents and the community have to say about education issues.

The Speak Up Research Project for Digital Learning, a national initiative of Project Tomorrow, is both a national research project and a free service to schools and districts everywhere. Since fall 2003, Speak Up has helped education leaders include the voices of their stakeholders in annual and long-term planning. More than 5 million participants have made Speak Up the largest collection of authentic, unfiltered stakeholder input on education, technology, schools of the future, science and math instruction, professional development and career exploration. National-level reports inform policymakers at all levels.”  (Taken directly from https://tomorrow.org/speakup/about_SU.html)

If you’d like to learn even more about the history, methodology, development of questions, or data from the survey, you can research more here.  We think it’s important for everyone to have a voice, and here’s another chance for you to do so!

I had the pleasure of being served by Eric Cheek at Culvers the weekend.  He was so professional, polite, kind and was excelling in his position.  He even wished my boys a happy birthday!  Thanks for representing Boone Grove High School so well out in the work force!

Do you have a standout to include in this section?  Email PTSC standouts to Dr. Schmidt at stacey.schmidt@ptsc.k12.in.us to make sure your standout is included.  She counts on you to send her updates all can celebrate PTSC student accomplishments!
